Rasha Allaf - Director

Rasha Allaf will be your Director for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). Rasha is currently a Junior at Georgia State University and is majoring in International Economics and Modern Language with a minor in Political Science. Ms. Allaf is from Syria and fluently speaks Arabic, and has previously worked with refugees. As some of her family members are also refugees, she has a good understanding of how the committee functions in the real world. Ms. Allaf was the Rapporteur in UNDP last year and is elated to be your Director this year. She hopes the delegates will gain a better understanding of why the UN is essential in global development and the challenges diplomats face in order to achieve the best solutions to humanitarian crises.

Arielle Hooks - Assistant Director

Arielle Hooks will be your Assistant Director for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. As a junior at Georgia State University working on her Bachelors in Political Science with a concentration in International Affairs, Arielle aspires to go to law school. In addition to the Model United Nations Team, She also serves as a Resident Assistant within University Housing. In her free time, Arielle likes to cook, paint, and occasionally binge watch on Netflix. Ms. Arielle is hopeful that students can use this experience to provide insight on challenges faced by refugees meanwhile developing effective, and realistic solutions.
